Vinyl fence topper should be low maintenance and requires no paint and little care besides cleaning. Use year and weather conditions can, however, take a toll on vinyl and motivate you to improve the appearance of the fence. Also painting your house a new color, installing new siding or simply making your landscape can lead you to paint your vinyl fence. Like any other surface to be painted, a vinyl fencing must be completely clean before painting.

You can wash it with warm soapy water and rinse with a garden hose. The fence must dry completely before painting. Make sure to cover all landscaping with plastic wrap. Consider hiring a paint sprayer to speed up the process. Start with a low pressure setting and get the feel of the syringe. If the spray pattern is not fixed, increase the pressure setting. Keep consistent distance when spraying.

Keep the tip about 12 inches away from the fence, move the syringe along the pickets (vertical) and hedge rails (horizontally). Overlap each stroke by about half. Use a high quality epoxy-based primer colored in the same color as your topcoat. Buy primers that include chemicals to slow down the build-up of mold and mildew. Also, make sure you use an epoxy-based topcoat as well.
